Sediment analysis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The sediment analysis determines the lowest stock level of a material within a certain period. This smallest inventory is known as sediment. The observation period should be at least one year.

If the sediment is higher than the desired safety stock, the difference represents an immediate stock optimization potential. The stocks can be reduced by the difference without loss of delivery capability .

Further analyzes are necessary to determine the cause of sedimentation. Possible causes could be improper or improperly applied ordering policies or other optimal order quantity procedures .

If the observation period is divided into several time windows, higher sediment stocks and potentials can be shown within this time window.
