bodo - Das Straßenmagazin is a street newspaper that is distributed by people in difficult social situations in the Dortmund , Bochum and surrounding areas.
Street magazine
The bodo project sees itself as a lobby for homeless and socially disadvantaged people. The sale of the street magazine is a low-threshold employment offer that offers an opportunity when other forms of employment are temporarily out of the question. The aim is to strengthen self-confidence and everyday structure to such an extent that reintegration into regular employment is possible.
The street magazine has been published monthly since February 1995. An editorial team and journalists from the region create the magazine, which offers a cross-section of the region with a social and cultural focus. More than 100 sellers offer bodo in Dortmund, Bochum, Unna, Witten and Herne. The monthly circulation is 20,000 copies. bodo reaches more than 40,000 readers.

The street magazine is sold on the street by people in difficult social situations. The seller keeps half of the street price of 2.50 euros. The sellers actively contribute to their street magazine and provide first-hand information on issues such as homelessness , addiction or poverty .
society
bodo is a non-profit, privately owned association whose goal is the support and social reintegration of people in difficult life situations. The focus of the commitment is the street magazine published by the association as an employment project for people who are affected or threatened by homelessness. The association creates jobs in other employment projects in a non-profit moving company, in online and store sales of books and in sorting, evaluating and selling donations in kind and used goods.
