BodyLove

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

BodyLove is an internationally oriented photo campaign with which the photographer Silvana Denker promotes more self-love as well as more tolerance and respect for different body shapes.

campaign

Eight women and eight men each pose in black underwear in the campaign photos. On their bellies is a letter of the expression "BodyLove". They are not professional models, but eight people of different sex, age, weight and body type, as well as different sizes and skin colors. They are in public in pedestrian zones or in front of special monuments , e.g. B. the Eiffel Tower , photographed.

target

The campaign aims to show that every person is beautiful in their physical individuality. She advocates more self-love and takes the position that there are no mistakes with regard to the human body, only differences. BodyLove thus defies the clichés of common advertising aesthetics and is directed against the dictatorship of ideals of beauty . The campaign condemns “ shitstorms ” on the Internet, in which people are insulted or bullied because of their appearance. The photographer Silvana Denker, who also works as a plus-size model herself, is looking for models for the photo series primarily through calls on social media channels. Everyone can apply to take part in the so-called "BodyLove Walk".

Until the end of 2015, Silvana Denker financed the costs for the BodyLove photo productions herself. Since January 2016, the Frankfurt fashion company Happy Size Versand has been the official sponsor of BodyLove. The online shop, which specializes in selling plus-size fashion, is thus financing the international continuation of the campaign.
