Boeromedusa auricogonia is a marine species belonging to the hydrozoa (Hydrozoa) class. It is the only species of the genus Boeromedusa Bouillon, 1995, which in turn the only genus of the family of Boeromedusidae Bouillon, is the 1995th

The species of this family are only known from the medusa stage . The medusa has an extension on the apex. The manubrium is cylindrical with a simple, tubular mouth. There are four radial and four ring-shaped channels, four conical buds sit on the edge of the umbrella. The medusa has only four simple, hollow tentacles with numerous collections of stinging cells , including an egg-shaped concentration of stinging cells at the end of the tentacle. The gonads sit in four large, perradial pockets on the outside of the manubrium . These hang freely in the interior of the subumbrella. There are no ocelli .

Geographical occurrence and systematics

The only species of the genus Boeromedusa Bouillon, 1995, Boeromedusa auricogonia Bouillon, 1995 comes from New Zealand, about 41.7683 ° S and 171.4317 ° E from a depth of 25 m.
