Bogdan Dragus

Bogdan Dragus (* 1975 in Galați ) is a Romanian violinist.

Dragus comes from a family of musicians and started playing the violin at the age of four. He performed with an orchestra for the first time at the age of seven and attended the Enescu Music High School in Bucharest. In the national Romanian competition he won the first prize and the audience prize. At the age of sixteen he went to Hanover and studied at the music academy with Jens Ellermann .

He worked with musicians like Ivry Gitlis , Eugene Sarbu and Yehudi Menuhin and played charity concerts for UNICEF. He performed at international music festivals, played all Bach violin concerts in Europe and South Africa in the Bach Year, accompanied by the Central German Chamber Philharmonic . In the Beethovenhalle Bonn he appeared accompanied by the Philharmonie Banatul Temeschwar under the direction of Horst-Hans Bäcker . Further appearances followed with the Kammerakademie Berlin under Uri Rom , the Black Sea Philharmonie Constanza and the orchestra of the Staatstheater Wittenberg under Stefanos Tsialis . Since 2003 he has been first violinist of the NDR Radiophilharmonie . In addition, he plays first violin in the salon orchestras Ensemble des Fleurs and Hannover Grammophons and leads his own ensemble, with which he released his debut album The Lark in 2013 .
