Horst-Hans Baker

Horst-Hans Bäcker (* 1959 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian-German conductor and composer .

Bäcker received piano lessons from Tamás Vesmás since 1964 . In 1973 he moved to Germany with his parents. From 1981 he studied composition with Ludwig Werner Weiand in Wuppertal . From 1983 to 1985 he studied composition at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Gyula Horváth , ensemble direction with Kurt Prestel and historical performance practice with Nikolaus Harnoncourt . Afterwards he studied composition with Jürg Baur at the Cologne University of Music until 1989 .

In 1996, Bäcker founded a symphony orchestra, from which the International Philharmonic emerged in 1998 , of which he is chief conductor. He is also a regular guest conductor of orchestras in Moldova , Hungary , Romania and Brazil ; since 2003 he has been a permanent guest conductor of the Arad State Philharmonic . He works regularly with the violinists Cristina Anghelescu , Bogdan Dragus and Ion Mazur , the guitarist Dale Kavanagh , the Amadeus Guitar Duo (Dale Kavanagh and Thomas Kirchhoff ), the Eden - Stell- Guitar-Duo and the pianists Adrian Stoica and Tamas Vesmas.
