The Lake Pergusa is the only natural lake in Sicily . It is located near Pergusa, a district of this town about 5 km south of Enna , at an altitude of 670 m above sea level .
The Lago di Pergusa is of tectonic origin and almost circular. It has an area of about 1.8 km² and a maximum depth of about 12 m.
Around the lake in 1961 an approximately 5 km long car racing track was built, the Autodromo di Pergusa .
Due to the rich fauna, especially the migratory birds resting at the lake , the area around the lake was declared a nature reserve in 1991 .

- All around the bank, forest wreaths and defends the waters
- Phöbus' glowing stab with the leaves, as if with a protective curtain.
- The branches are cooled and the Au nourishes Tyrian flowers.
- Constant spring prevails. ...
