The company AB Bolinder-Munktell (BM) was a Swedish tractor manufacturer.

The Swedish companies Bolinder and Munktell manufactured railway supplies , steam engines and combustion engines on their own before they merged to form Bolinder-Munktell in 1932. From 1947, the company built the light farm tractor BM 10 (23 HP, 1,300 kg, two cylinders, glow-head motor , hydraulics), which was popular not only in Scandinavia but also in France . In 1950 Bolinder-Munktell was bought by Volvo from Gothenburg. Just a few years later, the company presented powerful tractors equipped with direct injection Volvo diesel engines with up to six cylinders. In 1951 the series production of the self-propelled combine harvester MST-92 began.

In the late 1970s, Volvo decided to stop manufacturing agricultural machinery. In order not to have to cut jobs, however, Volvo wanted to continue producing components for agricultural machinery. To this end, a contract was signed with Valmet in 1979 . The tractors were sold under the Volvo BM Valmet and Volvo Valmet brands.
