Friedhelm Hinze

Friedhelm Hinze (born August 4, 1931 in Hetzdorf ; † February 5, 2004 in Berlin ) was a German Slavist , Kashubologist and Baltist .

Life

Hinze studied Slavic Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1951 to 1955 . The course was followed by a position at the Institute for Slavic Studies at the Academy of Sciences in Berlin (after 1969 Central Institute for Linguistics). In 1961, Hinze received his doctorate on the subject of “The German loan words in Pomoran (Kashubian)” .
