The Bonet Unico from 1889 is the first gasoline-powered automobile from Spain .

The engineer Francesc Bonet i Dalmau from Valls visited the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889 and was fascinated by the petrol engines on display. He immediately bought an engine from Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft . Back in Spain, he developed his own automobile. It was a tricycle with the single wheel at the back. The single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 462 cm³ made 1.1 hp and was mounted in front of the rear wheel. The vehicle offered space for four people.

The vehicle has been preserved and can be seen in the Museo Historica Automoción, Fundación Gómez Planche in Salamanca . A replica is in the car museum Collecció d'Automòbils de Salvador Claret in Sils .
