Bonngasse
The Bonngasse located in fußläufigen center of Bonn and runs between Star Street / Market Square and Oxford Street / Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz . She crosses Friedrichstrasse . Between this and Suttner-Platz stands the Beethoven-Haus on the east side and next to it the house “Im Mohren” . The Namen-Jesu-Kirche rises between Sternstrasse and Friedrichstrasse (east side of Bonngasse). Since 2005 - known as Bonn's "Walk of Fame" - illuminated glass panels have been set into the pavement of Bonngasse. They show personalities who were born in Bonn or who worked here.
There are two possible explanations for the somewhat unusual name (since no city usually names a street after itself): a deliberate contrast to the extension, the Kölnstraße leading to Cologne, or a corruption of the name Bovengasse (outdated name for Obere Gasse / Obengasse).
