Boat tow
A boat tow is a device for small pleasure craft to overcome barrages or to transition between bodies of water with different water levels . It is the oldest and simplest type of ship lift .
Boat tows are set up either alone or in conjunction with a boat lock or a boat lane . They consist of the mooring and deployment points in the upper and lower water , the connecting path and the boat trolley . The boat trolley is rolled into the water on a rope or chain so that the boat can be put on and taken off while swimming. The boat trolley is mostly transported on rails and self-service is either manual or electric.
