Radio operator badge
The radio operator badge was a badge of the Luftwaffe of the German Wehrmacht , which was donated by the Commander in Chief of the Luftwaffe, Hermann Göring .
The badge was awarded after successfully completing training as a radio operator and obtaining the radio license at a “blind flight school” or, from October 1943, at an “aircraft pilot school B”. It was awarded to all radio operators as a training confirmation and is therefore not an award for military performance.
The badge could also be awarded to people who were trained as radio operators before the decree, if they served as radio operators in the Air Force, and after the “Anschluss” of Austria in 1938 also to members of the Austrian Air Force who were accepted into the German Air Force.
According to the law on titles, medals and decorations of July 26, 1957, wearing the badge in the Federal Republic of Germany is only permitted without National Socialist emblems.
