Boreray is a now uninhabited island in the St. Kilda Archipelago around 83 km west of Lewis and Harris . The National Trust for Scotland is the owner. Boreray is about 0.77 km², the highest point is 384 meters. The island is known as a nesting place for numerous, sometimes rare, sea bird species.
The Boreray sheep is a small breed of sheep. The head and legs are black or brown. The wool is white or light brown, some specimens can also be darker. Both male and female animals are horned. The horns of the goats are larger and coiled in a spiral. Boreray sheep have been feral since 1930, the year the neighboring island of Hirta was evacuated .
The island is home to the Cleitean MacPhàidein.
