Born in Time is a rock song by Bob Dylan that was released on his 1990 album Under the Red Sky .

Cover version

In 1998 Eric Clapton released a cover version of the song in the key of E major on his album Pilgrim . Clapton played the accompanying chords with his signature Stratocaster under the influence of a distortion. In between and for a guitar solo he also uses a dobro when using the slide technique . In the ensemble with synthesizers and keyboard , the background vocals act like a set of string instruments . The single release of the cover version reached number 88 in the German charts and stayed in the German charts for eight weeks.
