Under the Red Sky is Bob Dylan's 27th studio album . It was produced by Don Was , David Was and "Jack Frost" (Dylan's pen name) and released in 1990 on Columbia Records . The dedication "For Gabby Goo Goo", some children's song-like titles (Wiggle Wiggle, Handy Dandy) and lines of text such as "Someday little girl everything for you is gonna be new, someday little girl you'll have a diamond as big as your shoe" suggests that Dylan wrote the album for his then four-year-old daughter.
Despite numerous prominent guest musicians such as David Crosby , Robben Ford , George Harrison , Bruce Hornsby , Elton John , Al Kooper , David Lindley , Slash , Jimmie Vaughan and Stevie Ray Vaughan , Under the Red Sky was a commercial flop.
