Boschiya

The Buschia or Boschiya (also Bushiyyah or Ghatwa ) is a Middle Eastern black veil that is worn in the area of the Persian Gulf .

It completely covers the wearer's face and has no eye opening. It is traditionally worn with an abaya .

The Boschiyyah or Buschiyyah is a large square piece of cotton gauze fabric. It has ribbons at the top that attach it to the forehead (under or over the headscarf) and hang over the face. When it is turned over, the entire face can be seen. A Boschiyyah is usually less opaque than a traditional niqab and can be worn as an addition to a half niqab or when the wearer desires more modesty in the presence of unrelated (non-mahram) men.
