Bot (Switzerland)
The bot (also spelled Bott ) is an assembly, mostly as an annual bot ( or annual bot ) = annual general meeting of, for example, a club , a guild , a traditional costume association or a shooting or carnival society .
The term is widespread in Switzerland and etymologically comes from "(on) offer" or, more precisely, from "(on) bid". Originally, the word generally referred to a bid , which could specifically also be an order, an auction , a communication or a summons .
In the Swiss guilds , the ordinary annual bot has traditionally been of particular importance. The bot takes place on a fixed day of the year. Its process with the individual items on the agenda is laid down with solemn and formal parts and ends with a solemn song (usually with the Fritschilied ).
