Nicole Joens (born as Nicole Houwer ; born December 25, 1961 in Munich ) is a German screenwriter , film producer , author of non-fiction, novels, short stories and detective novels, as well as a publisher and editor at CINDIGOfilm GmbH.

Life

Nicole Joens was born in Munich in 1961 and went to the USA for 7 years after graduating from high school. She graduated from Hunter College in New York in 1986 and worked for several years as an editor in the USA in the field of documentary film ( National Geographic Society , Metropolitan Museum of Art , PBS ). Her later focus was the music documentary ( Karajan in Salzburg , Pavarotti in China - Distant Harmony , The Stations of Bach ) and led back to Germany. From 1991 she worked as an assistant director at Parsmedia for documentaries such as Celibidache by Jan Schmidt-Garre. At the same time, the first screenplays in the area of ​​cinema / children's films were created, which were funded by the FFF Bayern.

She made her television debut as a screenwriter at WDR in 1997 with Margarethe von Trottas Winterkind . Other TV films, TV series and soap operas for ARD and ZDF ( Marienhof, Am liebsten Marlene , Forsthaus Falkenau , Die Rettungsflieger ) followed.
