The Botanical Society of the British Isles (abbreviation BSBI; German "Botanical Society of the British Isles") is a scientific society for those interested in the flora of the British Isles . The society was founded in 1836 as the Botanical Society of London . It includes both professional members and amateurs. It is the largest botanical organization in the British Isles by membership.
