history
The Botkyrka HC was created in 1998 through the merger of the ice hockey departments of IFK Tumba and Botkyrka IF. In its premiere season , the team took part in Division 1 , which was still second class at the time . After a reorganization of the league system, Division 1 became the third highest division in Sweden for the 1999/2000 season . In the period that followed, the Botkyrka HC established itself in Division 1, although from 2001 to 2004 they failed three times in a row only in relegation on promotion to the new second division, HockeyAllsvenskan .
