Boulder tomb

The Boulder Burial in the Burren , a townland in County Cavan, is about five kilometers south of the border town of Blacklion on the "Cavan Way" in Ireland .

The huge boulder was lifted and placed in position by wedge stones placed underneath. A chamber was carved out of the limestone under the boulder . Jim Nolan found cup-and-ring markings on a boulder on the way to the Boulder Burial (also known as Boulder Tomb). Ring markings were also discovered on the boulder.

Nearby are the Portal Tombs in the Burren townland .
