Boulder Dash in Lake Compounce ( Bristol , Connecticut , USA ) is a wooden roller coaster manufactured by Custom Coasters International , which opened on May 21, 2000. This was the fastest and longest wooden roller coaster on the east coast before it was surpassed by El Toro in Six Flags Great Adventure .

For the structure of the track, wood from swamp pine was used, and wood from Douglas fir for the rails . The route of the 1,440 m long run was adapted to the natural, mountainous terrain of Lake Compounce, complete with trees and rocks in close proximity to the rail.

2001 and 2004 Boulder Dash was developed by the National Amusement Park Historical Association voted the best wooden roller coaster in the world, taking the place of the 2004 best wooden roller coaster in the Golden Ticket Award from Amusement Today one.
