The Bourguiba Mosque ( French Mosquée Habib Bourguiba ; Arabic جامع بورقيبة Jāmiʿ Būruqaiba ) is a mosque in Monastir . It was built during the lifetime of the founder of Tunisia, Habib Bourguiba .

The mosque, which can hold more than 1,000 believers, was built between 1963 and 1965 in the traditional Islamic style . It is modeled on the Hammuda Pasha mosque in the capital Tunis . The mosque was designed by the architect Taïeb Bouzguenda .

The approximately 86 pillars in the prayer hall are made of pink marble and have abacuses . The mihrāb is located under the (semi) dome and is decorated with a semi-vault with gold mosaic.
