Boxe pieds-poings
The collective term boxe pieds-poings ( boxing with feet and fists ) describes a series of martial arts in French that are practiced with boxing gloves in a ring (or on a mat). They belong to the category of sports boxing. The boxers use a number of fighting techniques , depending on the rules . This includes various kicking , punching and throwing techniques .
The most famous martial arts in the sense mentioned include:
- the American disciplines (American boxing) under three main forms:
- Full contact without kicks under the waist,
 - Kickboxing with a roundhouse kick in the thighs or American kickboxing ,
 - and semicontact or fights in the points ( point fighting ), a class of karate with gloves and slippers in foam,
 
 - French boxing ( Savate ), also called Savate-Boxe Française ,
 - Japanese kickboxing : Kickboxing with direct knee kicks, roundhouse kick in the thighs ( low kick ), and with a few wrestling catches,
 - two types of boxing where almost anything is allowed: Lethwei (Burmese boxing) and Muay Thai ( Thai boxing ).
