The Boydstun Cemetery is a Christian burial ground in Donley County near the North Texas town Groom . It is located about six miles southeast of this city, and two miles south of the junction of Old Route 66 and Texas State Highway 70 .

history

The cemetery is located on the former farmland of the Boydstun family. Henry S. Boydstun (1858–1942) had come to this area with his family from Illinois in September 1889 . In April 1890, his three year old son Eddie died and was buried on the southwestern edge of the farm. In 1898 Boydstun made 0.8 hectares of land available as a public burial site on this site. Boydstun and his wife Mary († 1950) were buried near the town of Groom.

A scattered settlement with a school and post office developed away from the farm within a radius of three kilometers.
