Oberzeiring Roman Bridge

The Oberzeiring Bridge spans the Blabach in Oberzeiring , 20 km northwest of Judenburg ( Styria , Austria). The so-called "Roman Bridge", consisting of a stone arch, probably dates from Roman times and is a listed building .

location

The Roman bridge connects the communities of Oberzeiring and Pöls-Oberkurzheim, KG Unterzeiring over the Blabach.

Dating

The dating of the bridge is uncertain. Oberzeiring was settled well before Roman times. An old Roman main street, the "Via Norica", led at least directly past the settlement in Unterzeiring . Some authors referred to Unterzeiring with the Roman place name Viscella , which is probably not correct.
