The Brühlgutpark is a park in Winterthur .

location

The Brühlgutpark is located southwest of the city center in the area of the Brühlberg district . Directly next to the park is the busy Zürcherstrasse, one of the main routes into the city. On the other side of the park is the Brühlgut urban retirement home , to which the park is connected by stairs and visual contact, and right next to it is the Brühlgut Foundation .

history

In 1858 the Brühlgutwiese was bought by Heinrich Rieter-Ziegler , co-owner of the Rieter machine factory . He had the park designed by the garden architect Conrad Löwe in 1862 , who was also responsible for other parks in Winterthur. In 1920 the park was taken over by the city, which opened the Brühlgut nursing home in the rear part, while the front part on Zürcherstrasse was opened to the public. After that, the park did not undergo any major redesign until it was rebuilt in 2010 for 1.84 million francs according to plans by the Winterthur architecture office Rotzler Krebs Partner .

Structure of the plant

In the middle of the introvented complex there is a large round meadow that makes the whole park appear large. This meadow is bordered by a concrete band of varying height, which can be used as a seat in some places. This concrete strip is bordered by a gravel path with bulges with benches in some places. There is a children's playground in the southwest of the park. Across from the busy Zürcherstrasse in the south-east, the park is separated by a kind of dancing fence made of bent metal pipes. In the northwest there is a cycle path through the park.

Prices

The park and its architects won several awards for the redesign of the park in 2010:
