Bra böckers lexicon

The Bra böckers lexikon ( BBL ) is a Swedish encyclopedia , published between 1973 and 1996 by Bokförlaget Bra Böcker, in four editions of 25 volumes each. Of these four editions, more than 600,000 copies were sold. The first edition was published between 1973 and 1981, the second between 1974 and 1982, the third between 1983 and 1990 and the fourth between 1991 and 1996. Between 1995 and 1999, a special edition was published: the Bra böckers lexikon 2000 . Parts of the BBL were used in the Swedish version of Microsoft Encarta . This series was the standard reference work for many Swedish libraries until the Swedish National Encyclopedia was published.
