Brahman (Zebu)

The Brahman is a representative of the zebu ( Bos primigenius indicus ) and was bred in the southern states of the USA from 1900 . Not until 1933 was a significant number introduced to Australia. This breed of cattle is particularly adapted to the tropical hot regions of the world and is insect-resistant.

The zebu was created from old Indian zebu strokes like that

Kankrej or Guzerat (frame)
Nellore or Ongole (Resistance to Disease)
Krishna Valley (bred by British colonial rulers in India, color)
Gir

The mostly light to medium gray, but also red to black drawn Brahman bulls reach a height at the withers of 150 cm and a live weight of 950 to 1250 kg, while the cows vary between 500 kg and 750 kg. In addition to the characteristic hump, the dewlap and large lop ears are typical of the Brahman .
