Brahms Museum Mürzzuschlag
The Brahms Museum Mürzzuschlag is located at Wiener Straße 2–4 in the municipality of Mürzzuschlag in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district in Styria . The Brahms House is a listed building ( list entry ).
history
The house was built around the middle of the 16th century. A plaque commemorates Johannes Brahms' summer stays in this house in 1884 and 1885 , with the fourth symphony in E minor, Op. 98 being composed.
architecture
The building shows itself with a bay-like protruding side wing with consoles with a house sign. The arched portal shows a coat of arms with 1696 on the door. There is an arcade on the courtyard side. On the upper floor there is a well-divided stucco ceiling from the first quarter of the 18th century.
