Branko Lubarda

Branko A. Lubarda ( Cyrillic  Бранко Лубарда ; born October 15, 1955 in Mostar , VR Bosnia and Herzegovina , FVR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian lawyer and judge at the European Court of Human Rights .

Live and act

Lubarda studied law at the University of Belgrade from 1974 . There he graduated with a master’s degree in 1985, did his doctorate and habilitation until 1990. He also studied temporarily at the Institut international des droits de l'homme in Strasbourg and Paris . In 1992 he became an assistant professor at the University of Belgrade, in 1999 an associate professor and in 2005 a full professor of labor law. He still holds this chair today. His focus is on international labor law. Among other things, he worked on social and labor law reforms of the Serbian-Montenegrin and Serbian governments. He is also the President of the Serbian Anti-Corruption Committee.

In February 2015, Lubarda was elected as the successor to Dragoljub Popović as the representative of Serbia as a judge at the European Court of Human Rights . He began his term of office, which is expected to last until 2024, on April 13, 2015.

Lubarda is the author of several works published in Serbian, including an introduction to labor law (2013), a work on European labor law (2004), a work on collective labor agreements (1990) and a work on industrial action (1999).
