The Brasserie Nationale is a brewery from Niederkerschen ( French : Bascharage ) in Luxembourg. It sells its products under the brand names Bofferding and Battin . In 2016, the brewery's total production was just over 150,000 hectoliters.

history

The largest brewery in Luxembourg was created in 1975 from the merger of the Brasserie Funck-Bricher from Luxembourg City, founded in 1764, with the Brasserie Bofferding from Niederkerschen, founded in 1842. In 2004 Bofferding acquired the Battin brewery from Esch an der Alzette . Bofferding's Battin beers have been brewed according to the original recipe since 2005.

The brewery's sales partner is the Munhowen beverage distributor from Ehleringen , which has been 100% owned by BN since 2006.

The brewery is a member of the Die Freie Brauer initiative , an association of independent private breweries in Europe.

Products

The following types are sold as Bofferding: Bofferding Pils , Bofferding Hausbéier ( lager ), Bofferding Hop, Bofferding Gezwickeltes (naturally cloudy) and Bofferding Christmas (dark, only in winter). Battin Gambrinus, Battin Pils, Battin Brune, Battin Extra, Battin Fruitée (with added fruit) and Battin Blanche (wheat) are offered under the name Battin . With a market share of 44%, Bofferding was the best-selling beer brand in Luxembourg in 2012; Battin came third after the Diekirch brewery with 12%.
