Ganß Brewery
The Ganß brewery was a brewery in the Ludwigshafen district of Oggersheim , the origins of which date back to the 18th century and which was acquired by the Ganß family around 1800 and, after the old brewery was sold to Heinrichreiber, was operated at a new brewery until the First World War.

Michel Gans (born around 1773) married to Clara Luise Gerock from Frankenthal (born around 1772 and died in 1807) was a beer brewer and innkeeper and around 1800 bought a brewery, which had been operated by Johannes Schalk since 1760, and the inn "Zum Weißen Kreuz" in the city center . Her second son Carl Wilhelm Ganß (1802–1875) continued the brewery. Carl Wilhelm Gans was Mayor of Oggersheim from 1848 to 1851. His son Eduard Ganß (1831–1893) continued to run the brewery and was mayor from 1870 to 1872. His son Georg Ganß (1854–1902), mayor (1895–1902), continued the brewery and in 1880 sold the brewery and its equipment on Schillerplatz, the beer cellar and garden in Wormser Straße to Heinrich Philippreiber and only continued the malting on Schillerplatz until 1894, when Heinrich Philippreiber took over this too.
New building and end of the brewery
In 1897 Georg Ganß built a new brewery and the Bayerisches Brauhaus restaurant on Schillerstrasse . However, this brewery died in 1919. The brewery Bürgerbräu Ludwigshafen acquired the building, the facilities and the area out of town in the direction of Speyer . However, the latter abandoned the plans to convert the brewery into a malt house and offered the building and facilities for sale to the municipality of Oggersheim, which was considering setting up a municipal slaughterhouse there or using the site to build another schoolhouse.
