The Kopparberg Brewery ( Swedish: Kopparbergs Bryggeri AB ) is a Swedish brewery in Kopparberg that specializes in cider .

history

Kopparberg was originally founded in 1882 by 36 smaller brewers. In 1989 Kopparberg was taken over by a Swiss brewery, which withdrew from the business in 1994. As a result, it became the property of a bank. At the beginning of 1994 the brewery was reopened by the brothers Peter and Dan-Anders Bronsman. Since then, they have also managed the business. A large part of the brewery was destroyed in a fire in 1997 and then rebuilt.

In the following years, Kopparberg began exporting, first to Greece , followed by the United Kingdom in 1999 and then other countries.

Products

While there was initially only apple and pear cider, at the end of 2007 an alcohol-free version and variants made from other fruits were added to the range.
