Brewery jetty
The Brauereisteg (originally: Steg Fabergasse ) is a pedestrian and cyclist crossing over the Liesing in the 23rd district of Liesing in Vienna .
history
The brewery pier built in 1927 was dismantled and replaced by the Fabergasse pier in 2010. This connects Fabergasse and Breitenfurter Strasse with a newly built residential building and shopping center on the site of the former Liesing brewery .
The approximately 6-ton load-bearing structure made of laminated wood beams with a length of 15 meters and a width of 4.5 meters was lifted into place with a truck-mounted crane during the night of June 1st to 2nd, 2010. It was opened to traffic on September 28, 2010.
In its meeting on November 7, 2011, the municipal council committee for culture and science renamed the pedestrian crossing of the Liesing under the name Steg Fabergasse to "Brauereisteg" in memory of the former Liesinger brewery.
