Brunswick Carnival Society from 1872

The Braunschweiger Karneval-Gesellschaft von 1872 eV (BKG) is the oldest still active carnival association in Braunschweig and is one of the oldest still existing carnival societies in Germany .

The founder and first president was the Brunswick industrialist Max Jüdel , who got to know the carnival on a trip through the Rhineland in 1871 and after returning was able to win over friends, acquaintances and relatives to found such an association in his hometown. In the following year, the “Braunschweiger Carneval Club” was created , which eventually became the “Braunschweiger Carnival Society of 1872 eV” .

The BKG is a member of the Bund Deutscher Karneval .

Session order

The BKG has its annual so-called " session medals " created by well-known artists, for example Alfred Gockel , Dieter Portugall , Adi Holzer , Romero Britto , Jörg Extra , Volker Kühn , Wolfgang Loesche , Peter Preinsberger, James Rizzi and Josef Werner .
