Bregalgatal

The Bregalgatal in Avers in the canton of Graubünden is a high valley at 2000  m above sea level. M. above the tree line . The Bregalgatal is ecologically unique because of its extraordinary population density of marmots .

A three-kilometer educational trail geared towards families with an educational experience documents the way of life of the marmots on twelve display boards.

The Bregalgatal is also being researched scientifically. The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna knew in the years 2000/01 89 marmots with transmitters and explored in this way in a field study the hibernation of animals.
