Planned broadband switching networks

The narrowband ISDN switching network should be expanded to become a broadband B-ISDN ( broadband ISDN ); The additional integration of broadband individual communication services such as the videophone was planned . Planning was discontinued in the late 1980s.

In addition, a distinction was made between B-ISDN and the Integrated Broadband Telecommunications Network ( IBFN ), which also integrated the mass media broadband distribution services of television and radio ; the IBFN was also known as the universal network. Planning was discontinued in the 1980s.
