Brenda Marshall
Brenda Marshall (born September 29, 1915 in Negros , Philippines , † July 30, 1992 in Palm Springs , California ), real name Ardis Ankerson Gaines, was an American actress .
Life
Brenda Marshall made her first film appearance in Hollywood in 1939 . She had her best-known screen appearance as a partner of Errol Flynn in The Lord of the Seven Seas from 1940. She replaced Olivia de Havilland , who was Flynn's partner regularly, but is no longer in the shadow of the superstar of the US film at the time wanted to.
From 1936 until the divorce in 1940, she was married to fellow actor Richard Gaines , their daughter was born in 1937. In 1941 Brenda Marshall married the actor William Holden . After 1943 she only appeared in three films, from 1950 she withdrew into private life. She was married to Holden until 1971. The marriage, which resulted in three children, was divorced after the husband's numerous affairs.
