Brian Agler (born August 2, 1958 in Wilmington, Ohio ) is a basketball coach in the United States . He is currently the head coach of the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association .

Agler played as point guard at Wittenberg University , with which he won the 1977 NCAA Division III championship. He spent his first 15 years as a coach in college . There he trained Missouri-Kansas City, Northeast Oklahoma A&M and Kansas State. From 1996 Agler worked as a coach with the Columbus Quest in the American Basketball League , which won the championship twice under his direction. In the 1997 season he was voted ABL coach of the year. When the league was dissolved after the 1998 season, he moved to the WNBA and was there in the 1999 season head coach of the Minnesota Lynx , which had just joined the WNBA. He trained the Lynx until the 2002 season , but could not celebrate much success during this time. In the 2004 season he was the assistant coach of the Phoenix Mercury . From 2005 to 2007 he took on the post of assistant coach with the San Antonio Silver Stars .

From 2008 to 2014 he was the head coach of the Seattle Storm , with which he won the WNBA championship in the 2010 season . He was also voted WNBA's Trainer of the Year in 2010 . From the 2015 season he was the head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks . Under his leadership, the Sparks won the championship in 2016 . After Agler left the Los Angeles Sparks in November 2018, he took over as coach of the Dallas Wings in December 2018.
