Brian Hooper

Brian Hooper ( Brian Roger Leslie Hooper; born May 18, 1953 in Woking ) is a former British pole vaulter .

In 1974 he won bronze for England at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch . At the European Athletics Championships in Rome , he was tenth.

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he came in 16th place.

In 1978 he won bronze again at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and was seventh at the European Championships in Prague .

In 1979 he was eighth at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Vienna , eleventh at the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 and fifth at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1986 .

He was English champion three times (1973, 1980, 1986), six times English indoor champion (1973, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1979, 1981) and once British champion (1979).
