The Bridgewater Monument is a tower on the property Ashridge ( Hertfordshire , England ), built in 1832 in memory of Francis Egerton, 3rd Duke of Bridgewater , the father of the British inland waterways .

It is 33 meters high with 170 internal steps. The monument was designed by Sir Jeffry Wyatville in the Doric style.

The tower overlooks Aldbury and the Grand Union Canal .
