Briedeler Switzerland

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Briedeler Switzerland is a rocky, wooded escarpment ( undercut slope ) in the "Zeller Hamm" between Briedel and cell on the right bank of the Moselle in Rhineland-Palatinate .

It is about three kilometers long and the difference in altitude from the level of the Moselle (90 m) to the Bumkopf (422 m) is about 330 m. The area is mostly overgrown with deciduous forest. As early as 1920, the municipality of Briedel laid out around 10 km of hiking trails and paths as a tourist offer. At the particularly striking viewpoints of Hindenburglay , Wilhelmshöhe and Schöne Aussicht , shelters with barbecue facilities have been built. When the weather is clear, the view goes north over 100 km to the Nürburg and the Nürburgring in the Eifel.
