The Brighton Palace Pier (previously also Brighton Marine Palace and Pier or just Palace Pier ) is a sea ​​bridge (English pier ) in Brighton , England. Its counterpart was the West Pier , which has since been destroyed and only survived as a ruin .

The first stake was planted on November 7, 1891 . The structure was opened in May 1899 .

In 1973 the pier was damaged by a ship.

The theater was removed in 1986.
