The Brillux GmbH & Co. KG is a German paint - and paint manufacturer , which is run as a family business in its fourth generation.

history

The company was founded in 1889 as a wholesaler for paints and varnishes under the name Hobrecker & König in Münster. The company has been producing since 1948 and has been based at its current headquarters on Weseler Strasse in Münster since 1967 . The site has been continuously expanded and developed since then. It gradually incorporated 35 manufacturing and wholesale companies. In 1974 the first paint manufacturer in Germany took over: JD Flügger in Hamburg. With the acquisition of Ruhr-Lackwerke in 1979, the company also entered the industrial paint sector. In 1984 Herbert's construction paints were taken over and the southern German area opened up.

In 1984 the name was changed to Brillux.

Corporate structure

Brillux is owned by the König family in the fourth generation, has its headquarters in Münster and further production facilities in Herford , Unna and Malsch . The company has around 180 sales offices in Germany , Italy , the Netherlands , Austria , Poland and Switzerland and a fleet of around 900 vehicles. The production capacity is 340,000 t per year. The goods distribution center, built in 2008 and expanded in 2017, has a storage capacity of over 60,000 Euro pallets . Brillux employs over 2,500 people.

The company offers training positions in 18 professions and organizes advanced training events for painters and varnishers in Münster and eleven other locations in Germany and Austria.

A dialogue platform was set up for the exchange with architects. A facade prize has been awarded since 1991, which has been known as the Brillux Design Award since 2018 .

Sports events and clubs are sponsored in and around Münster , such as the LG Brillux Münster .

Range & service

The range includes around 12,000 items, including varnishes, glazes, paints for interior and facade coatings, fillers, plasters, wall and floor coverings, special systems for thermal insulation, concrete protection and repair as well as tools and (protective) clothing for the painting trade. Plasterer and painting companies are supported in recruiting trainees through youth campaigns.
