Brionvega is an Italian electrical company . The company became known for its product design for radio and television sets, with which it occupies an important place in the history of industrial design .

Giuseppe Brion and engineer Pajetta founded the company BPM (Brion Pajetta Milano) in Milan in 1945 for the production of electronic components . In 1950 they changed the name to Vega BP Radio and specialized in radios and later televisions (Radio Vega Television). With the departure of Pajetta in 1963, the company was given its current name.

Today, the company is Pordenone in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia resident. Brionvega was particularly known for his collaboration with famous designers such as Hannes Wettstein , Mario Bellini , Richard Sapper , Marco Zanuso , Achille Castiglioni and Ettore Sottsass . The company was in the premium segment and, in its prime, had a status similar to that of Braun . Some products such as the Cube TS502 radio from 1963 and the Algol & Doney transportable television are considered design classics.
With the strengthening of the Japanese electrical industry in the mid-eighties, the company ran into economic difficulties and changed hands several times. Today Brionvega is owned by the Italian electrical manufacturer super // fluo.
