The Bristol Biplane Type T was a double-decker developed further for the French pilot Maurice Tabuteau from the Bristol Boxkite model . In addition to the machine for Tabuteau, the British manufacturer British and Colonial Airplane Company built four more copies, which took part in various air races in 1911. However, no one was granted success in these competitions.
development
In contrast to the Boxkite, the Bristol Biplane Type T had a closed pilot's cockpit, extended skids as rollover protection in front of the main landing gear and a more powerful Gnome motor. At least one machine was equipped with a 60 hp (45 kW) Renault engine.
commitment
Tabuteau's machine was used in the 1911 Circuit de l'Europe air race. The other four copies also took part in the Circuit of Britain competition in 1911.
