Bristol and North Somerset Railway

The Bristol and North Somerset Railway was a railway company in South West England .

The company received on July 21, 1863 the concession to build a 32 kilometer long railway line from Bristol to Radstock . There was a connection to the Great Western Railway (GWR). Although construction began on October 7th, 1863, operations could not start until September 3rd, 1873 due to financial problems.

In 1870 the management was agreed with the Great Western Railway. With effect from August 7, 1884, the company was finally taken over by the GWR.

On March 1, 1882, the line from Hallatrow to Camerton was opened, which was extended to Limpley Stoke on May 9, 1910 .
