coat of arms

GW-GR-Tomils.png
Blazon : « In blue and yellow lowered rafters , above three yellow six-pointed stars next to each other, below a yellow six-pointed star. »

The four stars stand for the four former communities of Feldis / Veulden , Scheid , Trans and Tumegl / Tomils . The star under the rafter stands for Tumegl / Tomils , which lies in the valley. The other three former municipalities are well above the valley floor. The rafter comes from the coat of arms of Trans . There are two stars in Scheid's coat of arms and one in that of Tumegl / Tomils . Thus the stars do not only have a pure counting function. The colors blue and yellow correspond to those from the previous coat of arms of Tumegl / Tomils .

history

The municipality of Tomils was created on January 1, 2009 from the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Feldis / Veulden , Scheid , Trans and Tumegl / Tomils .

On January 1, 2015, the merged municipality of Tomils merged with the municipalities of Almens , Paspels , Pratval and Rodels to form the new municipality of Domleschg . The villages of Feldis / Veulden , Scheid , Trans and Tumegl / Tomils have since been part of the Domleschg municipality .
